Black lotus got nerfed a while back it used to be an offhand u should disregard that build

i believe this is the most common sp chain [shadow prison][tiger stance][black mantis thrust][jungle strike][trampling ox][falling lotus strike][twisting fangs][resurrection signet]

you should really take a kd in your "spike" chain

Well, the Impale + Res Sig was meaning, you could use either, but whatever.

However, that chain does...less damage in my opinion. Lack of poison and blades of steel?! MOAR DAMAGEZ!

That build is dead becasue BLS is now a lead.

I now use:

12+1+1 Dagger Mastery
10+1 Deadly Arts
7+1 Critical Strikes
6 Shadow Arts

Might be a void in the attributes, but here is the build:

Why even run Impale when you already have Twisting Fangs - if it's just for damage gogo [[Signet of Toxic Shock]

All these assassin "spike" builds listed, suck. I say that because I'm a not so good at monking, I don't have the reflexes to catch infuses on real spikes, I "fumble" with hitting the right target, and I can't juggle weapons for shit.

However, even before the shadow step nerf, even with my inferior skills I could survive almost any assassin attack using any of the above attack chains whenever I decided to practice on my monking skills. All you have to do is throw out the 1/4 second casts(RoF, SB, ect) and then hit your blocking ability then heal the conditions and that will heal the damage and watch the cool breakdancing animations of the assassin attacks(they are pretty...) To much offense, not enough utility, KDs or some shut down before the spike really help, you got tons of other tricks then 5 attack skills(by the time you get to the end of the chain, even after an IAS the target should be lit up like a christmas tree with prots).

Now it's not really a "spike" but my most successful sin was using a conjure spell, Gold Fox>Wild Strike>Shattering Assault, with assassin's remedy, and a few other support skills(Crit eye, kds, snares, impale before it got nerfed, speed boosts and whatnot). You just sit on a target and as long as your monk cleans anti melee hexes there's not a damn thing they can do to stop you from hitting very hard every 4 seconds.

Another good one, A/P with find their weakness. The energy is a little intense(very intense actually, you'll need a few radiant insigs..) and it's a little bit of a gamble, but if you crit a fresh target under find their weakness with unsuspecting strike you hit for 100+ damage and a DW on top of that. Follow with a cheap offhand, fox fangs is nice for the 1/2 activation(exhausting assault is interesting too, 1/2 sec dual attack with interrupts), wild strike is good too, gold lotus if you need the energy, then critical strike(assuming you don't get the DW before this ensures it and fuels your next attack), you're elite is flexible too.

Shadow Prison chains suck now, either you put it in KD and don't have enough damage to kill, or don't put in a KD and risk your spike being caught (which will happen most of the time).

Backbreaker is pretty much the only one that really works. The kd keeps your target inert for the duration of the spike and damage is around 450 + deep wound + -7 health degeneration. Also since the first skill you use is adrenaline-based, you can use it to fake out stuff like Dark Escape and Smoke Powder Defense and spike again before they recharge.

I would go out on a limb here and just say "'Sins suck for the majority of PvP", but seeing as this is the 'Sin forum I wouldn't.
